Psalm 1:1–3 Bible Lesson for Kids
(Choosing What Is Right)
If you’ve ever wondered how to help your child make wise choices, Psalm 1:1–2 is a beautiful place to start. This verse shows us that what we choose—and who we listen to—matters.
Psalm 1:1–3
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (KJV)
What This Means:
This verse teaches that we are happier and stronger when we follow God instead of following the wrong influences. My daddy used to tell me that, “if you stand next to trash, you will smell like trash.” In a way he has a point! Where you walk, stand, sit and who you listen to affects you from the inside-out!
Psalm 1, tells us that when we delight in God’s Word, we grow and thrive.
The world has a saying, “Bloom where you are planted”. But God’s Word tells us that where are roots are matter because if you’re in the wrong place with the wrong influences…. you’re not delighting in God.
God’s Word helps guide us to what is good and right…day and night!
Find delight in God’s Word and choose what is right- while you grow closer to Him.
Activity Idea:
Have your child color the printable while talking about ways they can choose what is right this week.
