Who you are can only be found in the One who made you and gave you life. Rather than looking to the world, we should look to the Word which shines a light on us to know who I am in Christ! You will find more Bible verses about anything and everything to help you forget not the Lord.
The identity crisis is real. The world is full of people trying to “find themselves”.
People are looking around the world, social media and to influencers to help them discover who they are, what their purpose is and how to achieve success. But the answers won’t give them peace or truth.
Who you are is directly linked to the One who made you, loves you and saved you. Christ.
Your family tree began at creation. No matter the family situation you have on earth, you can find your family and Father in the Bible. Tracing back your lineage to Genesis 1 and 2, will reveal you are a child of the Creator.
John 1, gives more details into how the world was made.
John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2 He was with God in the beginning.3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
But He didn’t.
Below are only a handful of Bible verses that tell you who you are in Christ. The world might try to tell you who you are, but it can never give you the things that are only found in Christ.
We can tell you who you are and who God is, but His Word, the Bible tell you in such a way that you can hold onto it for yourself. When YOU read the following verses, remember that the relationship that matters is between you and God. You becomes “I”. Who I am in Christ.
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.2 Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.3 And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.11 Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.12 Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
Before the beginning of time, God had a plan and a purpose set in place for you. Everything you need is accessible through Jesus Christ.
When you feel like you have no purpose or are weak, when you think there’s no way anyone could love you, remember these Truths.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, John 1:12
