It’s amazing how our brains are filing cabinets of information and able to recall memories from years past. 

But when we are facing a struggle, enemy, or difficult situations, we forget what can make the most difference. God has provided words to help us remember what to “think”.

Philippians 4:4-5

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

 

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

What the world needs now and always is love.  Everyone is looking for love and desiring to be loved. What the world and we all need to remember is that God loved the world so much He gave His only Son, Jesus. Jesus demonstrated His love by giving His life for us when our sins separated us from a holy God. 

Jesus died and was raised to life defeating death so that you can live with Him for eternity. While we are here on this earth, He has given His Holy Spirit to live in you as a reminder that you are never alone.

God’s Word is a love letter to you so that you do not forget how much He loves you and wants you to share His love with others. 

 

 

1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.  Do everything in love.

Bible verses for when life gets hard

Sometimes life can be hard. It’s not a matter of “if”, but rather “when”. God has provided reminders for us when the hard times or struggles come. That doesn’t always mean He will change our situation, consequences or take away our worry, pain and grief. But it does mean He will show us a way to handle or deal with things and we are never alone. 

Psalm 46:10

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.

Bible verses to protect the heart

Heading back to school brings new people and relationships into our lives. All of a sudden our hearts begin to fall in love and want to be loved.

Oh but that heart can be a fickle little thing and easily broken. Why is the heart so important? 

The physical heart pumps life giving blood throughout your body and it takes away the trash simultaneously. Isn’t that an amazing organ? God even placed a rib cage around your heart to protect it.

It is no surprise that God would use the spiritual heart as an important organ to carry and contain love. But it is our responsibility to make sure it is protected and that the trash is “taken out”. 

God gave us all a spiritual heart with a void…. a need to be filled. He wants you to need Him, love Him and  be filled by Him. Only God can truly fill the void in us. When we try to fill our hearts with something or someone other than Him, we find temporary relief, happiness or love, but it’s not permanent. 

Fill your heart with love for God, and He will fill you with love for yourself and others. 

1 Peter 5:6

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
